I took these pictures 9 days ago! Here is some of our flock.
We have 18 chickens and 2 ducks! Daisy is 1 duck, she is a Fawn and White Indian Runner, and the other duck that we have is a pekin duck, and her name is Maisy! Maisy and Daisy are best friends and follow each other all over the yard, hehe, then when the chickens go up when it gets dark, so do the ducks, LOL! I have a picture of Daisy but not Maisy, I will get some sometime this week for everyone!
The chickens that we have are: 2 white leghorn hens (just started laying), 2 barred rock hens, 2 Rhode Island Red Hens, (they are best friends also, they just started laying as well), 2 black sex link hens, (got those back in April of this year, along with the leghorns, and rhode island reds). Then we also have 2 Dominic pullets (young hens), we also have a few roosters (they don't fight, ever, they are friends actually), we also have a few bantam hens too.
We first got chickens almost 10 years ago (it seems like yesterday!). My dad had chickens and pigeons as a kid also, so 1 of my dad's friends (my dad was a builder at the time), and 1 of his friends/builders, lived in Lousiana, and he said he would go down to his farm and get a few chickens for us, as a surprise, and we have had chickens ever since! I love having them, they are very relaxing to watch when they are out in the yard, searching for bugs, hehe! They love to come up to you and see if you have any food, and when we eat dinner, breakfast, or lunch, (we have 3 windows in the kitchen), and they come up to the window and look in at us, if we go over to the window, LOL!
The picture thing is not working, going to tell a admin, BRB with pictures.
