I got a carrier.... friday i am house sitting for her, I take him for a grooming on saturday and he comes home sunday!

That was how old Sheba was when she came into our life. Have you handled him? What is his story, and why is he available? Militaries can be difficult I am told. But the same person also told me if you get along with one, they are awesome macaws.

I have held him and head scratched him a couple times. He is with an ex coworker of mine, she has 5 other macs. we have been talking about me taking him since November, so this is approximately how long he has known me. since he met me, she claims he is not as nice to her and even lunged a bit, but not to the point of him hurting her. his first home was an older woman who developed lupus, which didn't effect her health much, but his claws would scratch her a lot and make her non stop bleed. so she couldn't handle him much. then 2 grandkids arrived, and even less attention for him, and he screamed all day and pulled all his chest feathers out, so that's when my friend Amy got him. he never stopped plucking, has been vetted and checked for everything, has a great diet, we think it is habitual and a habit. As long as he doesn't mutilate it shouldn't matter. So Amy feels he would do better with more one on one as the only big guy in the house, she has a high matinence hy who is always on her if he's out so it makes it hard for her to rotate with the others. 2 are distant just happy go lucky blue and golds, and 2 are a military greenwing pair that entertain eachother so scootie is kinda the odd man out. I am optimistic that he will blossom here. He and sheba can have a long distance relationship
