My Adult said I'm too old to get a new lovebird but my Child said I deserve to have a lovie in my life in my senior years. My Child won. Oliver came home with me today. He is a tiny, shy, SWEET masked/Fischer's hybrid. And totally calm. Didn't freak once during the 2 hour drive home or the trip from my car to my apartment, his cage perched atop my very squeaky laundry cart. He let me hold him cupped in my hands for a half hour. He almost went to sleep when I was rubbing his face. And never tried to bite me, even once. He is 7 months old and was hand fed, but not really handled once he was weaned. The people I got him from breed peach faced but were given Oliver and his 2 siblings by friends. They have been working with him since they got him and said he does better every day. They didn't have any peach faced available since they only breed in May. I couldn't wait till July, so I took Oliver. He is a DNA male so there won't be any expensive eggs. He is a totally cute. And I am totally happy!
