Dear everyone,

My Agapornis fischeri since this morning has an eye problem. The eye seems to be allright since he still has visibility with his left eye.

Do you think I should do something? He is wild, so taking him out of the cage for cleaning for example would be quite a traumatizing experience for him. I would prefer to let the nature do its healing process. Any guru around who can give me some advice please?

He is 19 years old and also has a problem on the beak which you can see on the picture. What is this? A bacteria eating up his beak slowly?

He is eating normally but his balance seems to be a little be impacted even though he is not falling.

Thanks a lot. Kind regards from France.

Joel

Poor baby. I’d take him to an Avian vet asap. Vet’s know how to handle untamed birds.

Oh goodness I agree an avian vet right away if at all possible. I truly don't believe that can heal on its own and needs vet care and meds. @Zara

This is likely an infection in the sinuses affecting both eye and nostril. I recommend taking straight to the avian veterinarian. Proper meds for which type of infection.
He is suffering, eyes , as you know are painful when inflamed

My Agapornis fischeri
He is not Fischeri.

Definitely needs to see a vet to get a prescription. The vet may likely clean the eye while you are there.
Good luck Joel, hope it goes smoothly there. A good vet will be able to handle your non tame bird with no issues.
