Walking the driveway
Hello.
We are Sherri and Larry. We live in the midwest U.S., and have recently adopted an older (27 years) Blue and Gold Macaw. We also have a 240 cubic foot finch aviary with Lady Gouldians, Owl finches, Fire finches, and Cordon Blues, as well as several smaller - but still large - finch cages, Rosy Bourkes, and Painted Quail. We also have experience with Cockatiels, Parakeets, doves, and misc small birds, but this is our first experience with a large parrot. Every day is an adventure, and an education for us with him, as he came to us very spoiled and independent minded, so we do a lot of research, ask a lot of questions of friends, and work with him much of the day.
In addition to our birds, we have 3 dogs, 2 pet rats, 1 corn snake, bee hives, and 2 large (135 and 400 gallons) fresh water aquariums, so much of our time is taken by caring for pets.
Hopefully, we can learn much from this forum, as we have much to learn.
