Hello fellow bird peoples! I'm new here, but have had birds for a bit. Mom to blue and gold, Jake (about 13), and sulfur crested cockatoo, Kahlua(about 8). Have had them both for about 8 years.
Never had Jake DNA tested, and I am beginning to question "his" sexuality (and sanity, but with birds I think that's a daily experience!).
Long story short.....they are both supposed to be my son's birds, but I seem to have "inherited" them. Recently moved from a large, hectic, 4 generational home into a small cottage with just me, the birds, and one antique dog. In the big house the birds were in a room of their own and sad to say ,more limited interaction than is best for them. Now they are in the living room with me and PLENTY of interaction!
I have tons of questions, but will space them out. Don't want to bombard ya'll at once! I'm glad to have found a place to ask those in the know....thanks in advance!
