I been a birdie slave for years as I posted but never stopped over here. I have three Tiels at the moment having lost my Sweet Little Buddy, Streak, last month. He was a Parrotlet and had more personality than 90% of the people I know...put together. He was 13 when I had to give him grace due to cancer.
Nibble, a whiteface, was my first birdie buddy and is a goofy little guy always into something and the leader of Da Boyz, where he goes the other follow. He's been a big part of my life for 14 years.
Next is Piper a normal teil and my first rescue. I got him from a friend at work when Piper was found abandoned by his owners when they bugged out to avoid the police, they were cooking drugs and were later caught and got 10-20 years each. Piper was half starved at 72 grams and the cage he was in was so nasty I didn't even want it in the house so I ordered him a King's Cage and use a large travel cage until it showed up. He started making up for missed meals right away, now he's at 86 grams and look better. He took to Nibble and before I knew it had decided to move in with him. I've been blessed to have him as a bud for 11 years.
Last up is Dodger, also a rescue but not as hard off as Piper was. He was dropped off at the pet store I go to by an older couple and they left. I felt bad for him and thought was was a handsome little guy being a heavily Pied bird and I just happened to have a extra cage at the time and he's been here since. He has taken years to become friendly but we keep working at it. He fell in love with Nibble right away BUT he and Piper are only now coming to see eye to eye. He's been the junior member of the crew for 5 years.
Piper on the Left, Nibble in the middle (as normal) and Dodger on the right. Bet you never saw Cockatiels the size of an elephant before have you?
