Thanks everyone!! She is my dream bird so I can't stop thinking about her! So here's what happened...
I went to the pet store to get food for Juni and was playing with all the baby birds like I usually do. I was curious about her since she didn't look like a baby bird and I talked to the manager about her. I learned that she is 3 years old and was given to the store by a family who didn't realize what a commitment a big bird would be and bought her unprepared. She is pretty laid back and sweet. The part that really got me hooked was when she reached her claw through the cage and held my hand. She just looked at me and wouldn't let go. I tried not to get attached but she started licking my fingers and asking to be pet. The store manager was watching the whole time and came up and asked if I would be interested in adopting her. After much thought and discussion with my family and parents, we decided that I would!
She will be my personal bird. And I know I am in a good position to commit to her. I have a job now so I can afford to give her all the care she needs. And all of my college plans coming up include my birds as a top priority.
I didn't make the decision without thought and research. Me and my parents spent six hours talking and planning and researching before we called the store to give them our answer. So I feel very well prepared
Oh my gosh I'm so excited!!
