Hello, everyone! My name is Orion. :) I found this forum through Googling further information and studying up on my new feathered friends that I brought home tonight. I'm the new proud mother of two budgies, one a fancy and the other a blue. Their names are Solana and Vetra respectively-- pictures will be coming soon!-- and I'm so excited to welcome them into my life and grow along with them.

Thank you, everyone!

We're all still settling into our new lives together. The girls are quiet little things, which I'm thankful for. Solana was quite vocal and rather fussy when I had to get her from the box from the pet store into the cage (Yee-ouch! Bit me right out of the box and the whole way into the cage!) but Vectra was decently calm and let me hold her to put her up. Ever since then, they've been slowly relaxing. The first night/morning, they didn't enjoy the process of covering/uncovering the cage but they're okay with it now.

They seem to ADORE being misted and sing happily for a few minutes afterward, which is the most precious thing I've ever heard. I've been playing them an 11+ hour loops of calming music for parakeets/budgies for the last day and a half and they've seemed to love it. Just about to start working on trust and hand training them now that they've had a little bit to settle into their new home! I'm so excited.
