Brought home these 4 little guys today - 2 star finches and 2 owl finches. They are still just babies, hatched in April. We are pretty sure the two stars are males, not sure about the owls. One of the stars is a yellow-factor, so has a fairly strong greenish yellowish cast. They are just starting to get their "star" markings. They are all so tiny and adorable and the owls make the cutest little beeping sounds.
No names yet, waiting for input from my kids. I've asked them to choose two constellation/star names for the star finches. I suspect the owls might end up as Hedwig and Soren, but we will see.
They are in quarantine cages for the next month, but I hope to be done with the cabinet aviary by then.
