Strolling the yard
My girlfriend and I went to a pet store yesterday to look at an Eclectus we'd seen the day before but couldn't get out. That day an inquisitive little 12 week old Alexandrine kept following me from the inside of his cage I petted him from the outside and he was happy to lick my finger.
So today we went back to look at the Eclectus and if she had the same personality the first time I held her I was going to take her home today. We got there and the Eclectus had already sold. So we had a play with the Alexandrine and his personality just blew us away, so friendly, so cuddly he sat on my chest and nuzzled into my neck/stubble. He was such a big sook.
After a chat to my partner we decided that he had the perfect personality for us, friendly, comfortable with stranger, social, cuddly but not too needy.
So after some lengthy discussion we decided he was perfect for us and we brought him home.
It took a lot of coaxing to get him to come out of the box, but some persistance some love and some food did the treat, he's still very unsure about everything and as I type this is sitting on top of his new cage watching me.
Looking forward to getting him used to the house and loving my new pet (scratch that) friend.
I'll get some photos of him up soon.
We have yet to come up with a name, any ideas are welcome!
