I got a pair of cockatiels a month ago. A male and a female. They are getting along without any fights, but I don't think they have paired up yet. The male does the dance but the female hasn't given in yet. I notice a little pecking going on when they preen themselves side by side. They spent most of their time on the perch I have in their cage, but a few days ago I noticed that both of them are spending some time at the bottom of the cage, but when they see me they quickly climb on to the perch. They eat and drink quite well. I have a nesting box inside and don't see them going inside it.

Anyone who could explain me what's going on and anything I should be doing differently?

Remove the nesting box.
Let the birds decide if they want to make a pair first.
Having a box can stress them and lead to one pressuring the other which can result in bickering or fights.

Also how old are they? They might just be too young.
