In about the last 2-3 months.. I've noticed that the back of Felicia's neck looks.. well.. ratty. Her feathers are just horrible.. but, this is where I usually pet her.

There are no bare spots, or plucked areas.

Is this from my constant attention? Am I hurting her in some way? I'll try to get pictures tomorrow

Yes I have fingernails, they aren't super long, but longer.. Felicia seems to prefer them lol.

These are the photos I got, she's not a fan of the camera. 20170419_113404.jpg 20170419_113352.jpg

Here are a few more pictures.. I'm almost positive that the damage is from me. It starts right where she fluffs her head for scritches.

I know that some pi spieces are more prone to ratty feathers than others too.. 20170419_120618.jpg 20170419_120620.jpg 20170419_120558.jpg

Do you have any other birds that could be grooming too much?

I don't think it looks so bad. Does she shower? If so make sure that area gets wet.

She just looks like she might need a bath. Little extra preening nothing major. Gracie looks like that all the time when I get done with her lol
