My Heart is Broken

I just joined here a few weeks ago. I've been just looking and reading about everyone's birds. I haven't had it in me to post about my baby. I'm hoping that writing about it will help me. A little over a month ago my parrotlet, Bentley was killed by accident. My husband wasn't paying attention and flopped down on the couch. Bentley had flown over to the pillow that he has behind his back and was playing on it. He didn't see him.

I have just been sick. Bentley was sweet, loving, interactive, and had a great vocabulary. I miss his "I love you's and Peekaboos so much! He would say "Do you think I'm pretty?" and "I love you" to wake me up in the morning.

Rest in Peace Bentley. Your memory will be eternal. I will always love you! Mama

Bentley sounds like he was a wonderful bird.
As much as we as bird owners are aware that these things can happen, and try to raise exposure and awareness... at the end of the day, we are only human and accidents do happen.
