My little finned and gilled buddies live in a 100 gal heat managed stock tank in my garage all winter. They moved to their summer homes about a month ago but it sure looked pretty today so I snapped some pix. I have two small ponds - one is about 8' x 5' x 3' deep, the other is just a tiny 2'x2'x18" pond.

Oh, how LOVELY!

If I ever own a home I would definitely want some kind of pond...

That is GORGEOUS! We tried one a few years ago, just a tiny one, but the coons got to the fish so we gave up on it

BIG dog in the yard is the key. I'm guessing the racoons are bigger than you dogs - lol

In a couple of weeks all the lilies will be to the top of the water and blooming. They are amazing then. My fish are trained so that when I tap the rocks on the side, they come for food and will even take the pellets out of my fingers - It tickles!

LOL yes! Coons are WAY bigger than my chis! hehe.
Your pond is lovely - I hope you'll share some more pictures when the lillies are in bloom!

The local pet shop here used to have a HUGE indoor pond. All the Koi fish would come and eat out of your hand there, too! One would swim right up to your hands to be picked up! (although we couldn't because oils from your hands are harmful..) I heard that they really like to be rubbed with salt! (aquarium salt of course!)

Actually they are freshwater fish so salt is a complete NO NO.

I love to sit next to the pond on the bench and just watch the fish. They do get a bit shy by the end of summer though since the dog likes to drink out the pond occassionally. I usually have a dozen babies in there each fall when I transfer to the stock tank for winter.
