Pictures Mr. Chirpy had a bit of an incident.

I was going to sweep behind the couch. Mr. Chirpy flew down to the floor as I was moving it out a bit. He spun around and got his tail feathers caught under the leg of the couch just as I let it down. A little squawk but not a scream. He took off and released all his tail feathers.

All 10.

He's fine. Acting like nothing happened. You'd think he have a sore bum?

Oh no! Say it isn't so! Poor Mr. Chirpy. He'll be Mr. Stumpy Butt for a while. bless his little heart. When I first saw Bob I fell in love with him because he didn't have any tail feathers. I'm not sure how he managed to lose them but I had to take him home…. hence the name..Bob… for bob tail.

Still flying around. Doesn't seem to have affected his flight much

Aw, poor birdie! I'm glad he seems okay. Has it affected his balance while perching at all? I knew a cockatiel once who had no tail feathers and he would frequently fall over backwards.

Well he shouldn't be too sore as he released the feathers and not had them pulled out. Glad he can still fly. I would think turning might be the issue without a "rudder".

Bless him! When Lola was moulting most of his tail feathers came out at the same time... he would fly around like he had just left the pub!
