After some lurking, I wanted to post some pictures of my 7-month old BHC, River. She's named after a character in Firefly, if anyone gets the reference. She's still mostly in her sweet baby phase, often punctuated by ecstatic playful romps, and the occasional obstinence. She has bloodlust for our dog but adores our 6-year old cockatiel, Ransom, but they are always very closely supervised together. Ransom thinks they are going to mate and has begun preparing a nest behind our TV.
River figured out how to open and get inside Ransom's old cage. He now has a new cage that can only be opened by opposable thumbs. Her first distinct words were "step up" about a week ago, but she hasn't repeated it since. At the time, she was not obeying but mocking me and refusing to, because I was trying to put her back in her cage. She's been clicker trained and waves, hangs upside down, lays on her back, hops, and turns around on cue. It's just the "step up" that she hates.
