Bird store had Volkmans parakeet. They carry it so I bought 2 lbs to mix in with V;s tiel no sun which has safflower seed but she doesn't seem to eat that. I think she especially enjoyed the additional small seeds for parakeets.
They had more english but none as cute as my sweetie...
The bird guy was amazed the keet tamed that fast. Said thats a good bird.
Millet is the secret but bird matters too.
This one has no fear well almost no fear
Picked up a ladder & swing at the birdstore.
Already she was on her swing eating millet.
Hope she enjoys her new toys.

To cover or not to cover?
Trying covering her tonight in hope she can sleep longer in morning & get least 10 hrs.
I'll see how it goes.
If she wants to get up when she wants in the morning that's ok with me too after all she is quiet & not waking me so I am happy. I want her happy & healthy.
Last night I went to bed at 1am up at 8 so I am tired. Had important work to do so could not be helped
She was awake when I got up so she may have only gotten 7 hrs
I'm quiet except for keyboard & she seems to be able to sleep well & nap in the day no problem.
Anyway tonight we both have the luxury of sleep

She's eating greens now & being more vocal but mostly quiet. I like quiet!
Most of the time she uses a soft voice but she has a loud chirp too & good thing she doesn't choose to or learn to use that all day...Yikes
I am so happy.
She;ll wait by the door for out & sometimes make the cutest toy squeak.
I have pet her back & head.
She is the most sweet bird but strong.
When she plays She wrestles with her water dish & can lift it & shake it when its full of water.
Amazing strength.
Good thing she is gentle with me.
I am very pleased she has come this far in just 2 weeks.

A few months later I think in December 2014 I found her sleeping in her bowl which was odd.
It was a weekend. Later she had a few seizures. IT was too late for the vet.
She died quite suddenly. I kept her in the freezer for many months.
I never even wanted to speak of her passing as it was too hard. Her cage is just as she left it almost 2 years ago.
Such a sweet thing that brought joy into my life & I hope she enjoyed her short time with me.
I am in tears mourning my angel.

I guess its time to clean out her cage. Its been a bad 2 years since her passing where I wasn't that well myself.
I have just been living with my head in the sand.
