Splints are such a miserable thing. Never dealt with one on a bird but on a teething puppy. That was fun, we were having to re-tape it every day at home it seemed.

I had a budgie who broke her femur. Avian vet had to implant a sewing needle to fix the bone; tape cast for three weeks with physical therapy to her toes twice daily. She, of course, became very tame by the end of the six weeks of treatment. Was an interesting experience. Golda lived to be 18 y/o.

Poor guy! Does he have to stay in the carrier until he gets the splint off? I have no idea how it works when their feet are hurt. Hope he is 100% very soon!
