Lice and Mite Protector?

Never used one of these when I had a canary and never had any issues. A friend said I was just lucky and recommended I get a lice and mite protector and hang it on the outside of my Parrotlet’s cage. Am concerned it may make him sick. Any advice on this?

Don't. Those things are pure poison and do nothing good for the bird at all.

They should have been taken off the market years ago. :wtf:

If you do ever run into any trouble with mites, lice, etc., diatomaceous earth is an amazing investment. It's a natural powder that kills small insects by drying out their exoskeleton and dehydrating them in 48 hours. It will not harm your birds. I use it on everything from my pet mouse to my dog.
