Just introducing the Flock...

I'm new here... but not new to birds.

I've rehabilitated smaller birds in the past and have always been owned by at least a trio of budgies.
I'm a reoccuring college student striving for a new career; happily married to a wonderful man and currently have 4 fids and a few reptiles.

I'm allergic to most animals save for Birds so...

Anywho my current flock consists of Three Budgies...

Maiboch; Daffy; and Tye-Dye (also known as Blu2)

And a Whitewing Parakeet called Porter!

As for cage set ups... well my birds are oddballs.

Originally I got Porter a HUGE cage... and he likes to visit it now and again, but I kept the Budgies in two seperate cages.

One in particular he kept visiting... and would. Not. Leave.
If I tried to get him too he'd hide in the far corner and complain; and look so darned miserable that I eventually gave up.

So The Budgies got his HUGE cage and he got to choose his own.
Bird is the word and what Porter wants.. Porter GETS.

Funny but thats how my little world works.

Stolen by meaning he'd chase the Budgies OUT of their own cage, and they would spend the time in his.
Little Tye-Dye wanted to be part of the flock so much... that I just folded up his cage and put it away.
Funny but thats the way things go.

And believe me... happy Porter is better than FIRE ALARM; FIRE TRUCK SCREAMING I DON"T LIKE THIS PORTER.

Did I mention we live across the street from a fire station?

They were called BB parrots when I got Ralph ion the early 70's. He hated me at first then I finally buckled down and started working with him and I became his chosen one. He was very loud and thought he was a eagle.

Porter doesn't Eagle.

He came to me as a hand raised baby. And has loved people any people from day one.

But If he wants something..
He WILL get it.

I had to hunt long and darned HARD to find a Broto; I've wanted one since I was... four or so when my best friend's mother had a pair.
They were grey cheeks and as sweet as the day is long.

Sadly Grey Cheeks are hard to find in the US these days.
Even White Wings are not so common as that.

I got lucky in finding a breeder in Texas.
