Just got a 10 month old IRN, i was told by the previous owner he is a male but i just want to make sure

I have an appointment to get DNA test for him/her on Saturday, but just want to know by appearance would be enough to identify. All input are appreciated.Sorry for my bad English, i am learning the language

I know males get a dark ring around the neck but not sure what age they get it looks to have a faint dark line coming but I am just guessing I don’t know who to tag for you either that would know

I believe you can not tell the sex visually till they are approx 1 1/2 years old so a DNA test is the surest way to know if you need to now for sure now.

Basically to be accurate the DNA test is needed. There are two kinds. One you can do at home with plucked feathers and the vet does the better one with a drop of blood.

If I were to say I’d say it’s a male. I have a female IRN and she didn’t have that ring around her neck at the same age. But as others have said, DNA test is best
