We had some torrential rain yesterday, and JoeJoe made sure he was out in the aviary to enjoy every drop!

He seems to have settled in well and is very affectionate. A little too inquisitive though and my plants have suffered!

Pippen after she jumps into her water dish will do the same, sit there shivering even though she's happy she got a good soaking. She waits till we put fresh water in then jumps in while we aren't watching.

Apparently they shiver to dry off quicker - ie. it doesn't always mean they are cold. I don't know where I read that or if it is true.

Well it sounds good anyways and shivering is a natural way the body uses to warm up. I'm just used to if they're shivering they are probably cold and I don't want them to catch a chill and get sick. My house finch we raised got too cold one morning and got sick and eventually it took her out so I'm a little sensitive about it.

JoeJoe broke 2 new long and beautiful bamboo shoots trying to hang from them in that session. I’ve waited a year for this bamboo to sprout more branches!

Nerd many years ago had a favorite branch on our Jade plant he sit on and chew happily while looking out the dining room window. One day we heard a THUMP! and he and his perch was on the carpet...

JoeJoe is doing the same with one of the apple branches in the aviary. I thought he was intelligent but he sits on the bit that is going to give way if he keeps going! (He'll be ok - he can fly well)
