Another member asked me if I had pics of our pups here & shame on me I haven't posted any.

Naomi Rose just turned 4 this month. As best we figure she is a German shepherd Kelpie mix. (We figured out the Kelpie bit when we met a neighbor who had one & they looked nearly identical.) She is my sweet angel velcro dog when we are at home and turns into an over-protective Sybil as soon as we go outside.


Jixny Belle (usually Roo or Jixny LouHou) is our 3 1/2-year-old "Danish Pointer" (Great Dane, English Pointer mix is our best guess.) She is the sweetest, clumsiest fraidy-dog there ever was but she loves everybody.

They are adorable both and I agree that Ron is part Great Dane.
But have you consider that she can be part Dalmatian too?

The spots did make us think maybe American Bulldog or Boxer because the white ones of those breeds have "freckles" like hers, but after I saw my co-worker's two purebred English Pointers, I was shocked by how much she looks like them, but they're much smaller (around only 60 lbs for females). Jixny even points when she alerts on bunnies and squirrels in our complex.

I do hope we can afford to have that DNA testing one day on both of our girls even though I know it's not 100% accurate.

Yes I see Pointer in her too. They are also just like the Great Dane very sweet dogs.
I think you have a great combination in that dog. (and if it's also Dalmatian, they are also very sweet dogs)

It sure is interesting to think about what they are mixed with! To me in the second pic it looks like there is a little pitbull like in her face too, it Will always be a mystery! My grandparents have a GSD mix, he is from Spain and rather slander so my guess is Some sort of greyhound is blended, but I can’t really tell!

Chocolate does look a lot like Nomi. Our other guess, before we heard of Kelpies was Chocolate Doberman. She's very similar to those, but I think your niece's Chocolate may be even closer!
