Leslie, I'm both flabbergasted and mesmerized by the immensity of that atom!!

looks great as long as no one sits in that chair!

Especially since it's a rocking chair...

My hubby saw these pictures, he saw the 1st one and said, well she'd better put a blanket over it, then I showed him the second picture and he said all of us bird people have the "D" gene in us, as in "Devious"

In a computer forum I'm a member of, there is the same expression whenever someone married purchases a lot of new hardware, which ends up being loads of $$$. They say, I got some D. However, the "D" in that forum does not refer to the word devious...!!

The box was on my porch when I got home!!! Here it is on a chair in my sunroom...Nani touched it but was just a tiny nervous! lol Ok, it is too large to hide...I put it behind the chair and will come up with something to tell hubby tomorrow as I do need his help to hang it...it is heavy and huge!!!! I am so excited...we are both home tomorrow due to the snow storm so I hope to get it up then!!!!

One thing you can do is just place it on the floor and let her see it. Also you can go over to it and sit by it and touch it and talk to it and let her see that it is alright. Once she is over the shyness of it, you will be able to hang it without her freaking out. I have had several Greys and Toos have this reaction for about 1 day or 2. Then once they realize that it is not a monster, they are all over it. Try that and let us know.

Once the secret is reavealed and hubby knows, I will pull it out from behind the chair and let her see it....and then hopefully get it up soon! Thanks for the pointers. It is soooo beautiful and looks like so much fun!

Ok, hubby did a quick Dunkin Donuts run around the corner so I took the atom out from behind the chair and hung it on a temp hook for a few minutes. Nani went right to it so I quickly snapped a few picks and took a short video clip.

Then it went back into hiding!!!! lol

Yup, she's my big baby girl! THe atom doesn't look as jumbo when she gets on it!!! lol I would take a pic of one of my smaller birds on it, but they would be too scared! lol

I am having second thoughts about telling hubby....I am thinking if he doesn't notice it behind the chair, I might wait until later this week after the snow storm, buy a stud finder, and put a hook in myself. lol It seems that when things are already hanging he doesn't really notice them!
