Friday the 13th I will head to Toronto with my friend and my son to pick up Denis. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas and will be counting the sleeps.
I ordered the pellets recommended by the breeder today and put the budgies in the smaller cage so Denis can have the larger cage for his quarantine. They are not too pleased and Phoenix laughed at me when my first attempt was unsuccessful.
Yesterday I received a receipt from the breeder showing he has been paid for.
So far the only thing I purchased (other than ordering pellets) is a rope perch from the store where I got Phoenix.
The owner kept trying to sell me one of his cages, even though he knows I am getting mine custom.
They were also trying to warn me about the breeder saying it may be a scam. And then let me know that Digger is a Camaroon Grey. They also asked what I paid (nothing) which made them also question the legitimacy of the deal. The asking price of Denis (Congo) was half of what they were asking for Digger (Camaroon).
I doubt I will return to their store and will be ordering my supplies online.
I tried to get an appointment with the closest avian vet (4 hours) because of the guarantee and her last day before holidays is Friday the 13. When I told the breeder he assured me (through Facebook messenger, so I have proof) that he would still honour the guarantee and I can go when the vet returns.
He knows how far I live from the vet because he gave me the information of where to find one closest.
That is about it for now but I am sure I will have lots of questions.
