So I have posted a few cruddy photos of my new girl in her welcome thread, and it's taken her a bit of time to get used to the sight of the camera. But today I was able to snap this beauty! Hope you all enjoy!

Thanks guys! She took some food from my hand today whilst on top of the cage, which is another good step forward. She's still very cagey, but day by day we get closer! I'm sure there will be many more photos as time permits (although I said that about PomPom too, and time most definitely hasn't permitted lol!!

Can you get a clear shot of the ring? Looks like a boy to us in that shot because of the "eyebrows". Do you know what mutation s/he is?

I just wouldn't go leaving my camera within her reach if I were you. That looked like a "death to the camera" glare -

I am having suspicions that she is a boy too - We have only had her three weeks now, and she wasn't hand tame when we got him/her. We were told that she was four years old, but that is third hand information as the previous owners didn't have her too long. I *think* she is a cinnamon dilute dominant, but I have no way of knowing as we have no idea who bred him/her. It's part of the reason why I named her Israel - It's a fairly gender neutral name!

I will see if s/he will let me shoot another photo when she is out later this afternoon. She was brave enough in morning training to let my left hand grip the perch atop her cage while my right hand fed her apple. I even got beaked once and licked. S/he would lean over the fisted hand but not step up yet.

There are a couple of phone photos here: Pictures - I am not new, but Israel the ringneck is! | Avian Avenue Parrot Forum where you can see her ring sort of but they are not camera shots lol. I will get him her sexed when she's back at the vet next month. Either way I love it to bits!

Hahaha I have many cameras, it's my job! - PomPom loves them - not for modelling but for chewing on the little plastic bits that the strap hangs off lol!! That is definitely Issy's "That's a new thing - I HATE new things" face!!

I live with a known camera hater...Milton. He's destroyed two cameras in the past...all pictures are taken from a safe distance, and even then all you get is a picture of a 'too considering how to attack an intruder...
