It's a mutation of a normal GCC... kinda like the maroon bellies, cinnamons, pineapples, etc.

I understand that Black Cappeds and Green Cheeks are different species. Both are Pyrrhura but the GCC is Pyrrhura molinae, the BCC is Pyrrhura rupicola and a Maroon Bellied would be Pyrrhura frontalis. Anyway, I agree with Kathie. It looks to be a Black Capped Conure. :)

Haha that's what I thought. I got all confused there for a second. But yea, I agree too, looks like a black capped, and its a very pretty one in my opinion :)

Mhm, black caps and gcc's are indeed different species.

I *think* it COULD be a pearly conure. I know the pearlies have orange on their shoulders but if the bird in the picture is a baby, it might not have grown the orange yet.

After looking on avian web there was a photo under the black capped that looked very similar, so I think Kathie is right. They only want $75 with cage.

The neck feathers don't seem right to me for a black capped and I don't see any hint of red that is on the front edges of a black capped wings although it could just be the picture.
Here's Clara, a black capped conure.

Seeing your photo to I suspect a cross. I initially thought a blue crown hybrid. But maybe a black capped/gcc.

Sure doesn't look like a black capped to me! I would guess maybe marron belly/greencheek cross, maybe black cap maroon belly hybrid like Cydney said..

I agree with ConureLover and mrstweet... (but not about being a large conure hybrid! This is definitely all Pyrrhura!) and my guess would be a Black Forest Conure - however, I can't say I've seen pictures of these birds... only heard of them! (i've been trying to get photos!)

A black forest conure is a hybrid between a green cheek conure and a black capped conure. I've seen maroon bellied x green cheek hybrids, and to me, this does not look like a maroon bellied conure hybrid (i.e. lacking the colorations of a maroon bellied conure, particularly in the chest areay).
