Is the wiggle dance only courtship?

My boys wiggle dance to each other, they live sperately so it isn't too much. But now I saw my Neptune wiggle dancing toward a wild bird that regularly stops outside the window.

All of my research suggests the wiggle dance is regurgitation courtship.

How many p'let owners have seen it to simply mean friends? Anyone?

My boys are young they might just be experimental.

Babies practice adult behaviors, just like human children do. It's not necessarily sexual pre-puberty. They just want to get those behaviors figured out before they need to bust them out for the Real Deal! :)

They are so ridiculously cute. Very acrobatic fliers and super derpy at walking. They walk along fumble and just make this look like.. oh yeah that was what I wanted to do. Then they fly off like a bad*** and do a jet fighter move. :cool8:

I wouldn't see too much in this. Birds are like us, they have very few behaviors that mean only one thing whatever the context. They are not stupid and they do know the difference between making friends and flirting ;) Don't worry, your guys are most probably not gays :D

This was never my concern, nor do I think they are stupid. It was a question on their behaviour since I also witnessed it directed toward wild birds. Thank you for your response.

I think it means a sign of love or something. My parrotlets wiggle dance at things that they think are “awesome”. If they wiggle dance at a new toy= that new toy is a new hit in the cage. When Joseph and later Sudlhor came into the household, Mali (the oldest p’let) wiggle danced and tried to feed the new baby right away and to this day he still tries to be the “Cool Big Bro” of the p’let flock. Makes me think that he’ll make a great dad if I ever get him a wife....but I may be wrong.
