I really don't have much to add to the topic at hand, I am on both sides of the fence....both love and a good home where the bird's safety and well being (good diet, baths, proper socialization) are both important. I don't think one can be sacrificed for the other, they go hand and hand. Ignorance is one thing, but I doubt that if the one guy with the two macaws hasn't had someone already tell him that the situation that he leaves his birds in is wanting (as I am sure he probably leaves them unattended more than once).

On another note, for those of you who also have several birds, does anyone tell you guys you should move to Hawaii and pursue this career as well, lol? A friend of mine came back from her honeymoon last July and told me "hey, while we were there we saw several people who had their birds out and were having them pose with people for pictures....maybe you should do that!" :)
