Heading to the grocery store in a bit and wanted to try something new for Java. My store only carries amaranth flour and I was wondering if it was okay to add to chop?
Thank you. Do you know if it should be cooked? I'd only be adding it to absorb any extra moisture from the chop, and the nutritional benefits, of course.I've baked with it for the birds before, but never added to chop! It is safe for them though

Oh! That's good to know. Guess I'll be making birdie bread with it, then.

"Amaranth must be cooked before it is eaten because it contains components in it's raw form that block the absorption of some nutrients in our digestive system. You should cook Amaranth whether you plan on giving it to your family or your pets."

Take care! There is a recall on some Amarath flour right now - I believe it is Bob's Mill flour.
I deleted the information I had about it.
Whew! I decided to get whole amaranth since I couldn't find the flour. It's by bobs mill, so should I be concerned about that?Take care! There is a recall on some Amarath flour right now - I believe it is Bob's Mill flour.
