I am entirely in support of a plan to ensure the survival of a threatened subspecies of parrot (subspecies of the Lesser Vasa is the "black parrot" referred to in the article). It would be crazy to see the vasa parrot become extinct in Seychelles in order to keep a feral flock of ringnecks instead....surely?!

Well I would like to see them relocated instead of slaughtered.

Wow, that is sad. I'm all for conserving native species but they don't even know with any certainty whether eradicating them will allow the black parrot to thrive. My dad and step mom are going sailing in the Seychelles this fall. I wonder if they will see any IRNs while they're there, or if they'll be gone...

Problem I see is that IRNs are a feral species in pest proportions in a number of countries (the US, Australia, UK, Spain, etc), where would they be relocated to? Their numbers are not in any danger.
