Cockatiels are absolutely wonderful birds. So much personality in such a small package.

I don't doubt it! But I think that statement applies to all little birds. :) Each and every bird, big and small, have their own unique personalities. Reminds me of this:

Gotta love the littles.

Anyways, Mr. Chirpy is precious.

Great pictures John, Mr Chirpy is a little cutie!

Lovely Photos... should be more of em! :)
Agreed! :)

I love this so much. To aquire my entire flock of 6, cost me 30euros (25usd)... but in care, food, toys, cages it has cost me a LOT.
But money does not matter, it is just stuff. It can be replaced, my birds can not.
My birds have HUGE personalities, as I´m sure all other little birds do too.
It is sad that they are so misunderstood and underestimated.

Cockatiels are awesome birds. There is a reason they are more common, because they do wonderfully as companion birds. :xflove::xflove::xflove:

They are clever, engaging, sweet and so darn fluffy. Mr.Chirpy is awesome!

It is really sad when rareness is an excuse for value. All birds have value! ALL of them !

True all birds have their special hidden talents and unique in their own ways. They all find ways to surprise you in what they can do.
Love em all !

We need to see Mr. Chirpy more often. :) I will definitely agree that tiels are wonderful birds. And even though my tiel was even small for a tiel, he definitely thought he was big. :)

I totally agree. I want another, but there are no breeders less than an hour away. Nor can I find any locally that need to be rehomed. The local pet store occasionally has one but I'd much prefer a hand raised one.

There's a reason for it. He can go at it with the cockatoos in the noise department. They're such bad examples. :D
The tiels have an attitude of their own.

A family friend of a friend has a Cockatiel that has lived its entire time in a 2 by 4 cage with 2 dowels and one toy for 10 years! He seems happy enough and is very friendly and very much loved by its owner! I have tried donating a much larger cage full of toys, but the poor fid freaked out and stayed in one corner and wouldn't move for two days! Put him back in his old cage and he is as happy (whistling all day) as larry again! Its a hard call! What do you suggest @JLcribber

There’s no need to take the old cage away. That is home/security. Set the old cage by or on top of the new cage and let him grow into it slowly. Just like he did the old cage.
