I fully understand trying to limit the space after each post. I had to turn off signatures in my account settings because some of them are a little too heavy. Normally that wouldn't bother me but I also have 40 posts per page set to reduce the number of pages per thread. So, every time a thread loads with as many as 40 posts, well, you could imagine the slow downs from all the signatures. This should help a lot especially with the forum getting busier.that is in fact the goalGlad you like them!

I think they are gradually doing this, one step at the time.I briefly re-enabled signatures and the award images are still there. Does each member need to remove them manually or will they all automagically be turned off from the singature space?

It's associated with the number of posts you have. When you first join, I think it says "checking out the neighborhood." When your reach a certain number of posts, it says something about being in the yard I believe, then "walking the driveway," then something about maybe jogging down the street? More or less, the greater your number of posts, the more you've probably checked out the different sections of Avian Avenue and gotten more and more familiar with the forum. Are you sure you want to do it? There's a big disadvantage not everyone will appreciate after eliminating signatures. For one thing, you won't see what birds people have in their flocks and merchants usually display their company info there...
