Humping

My lovebird Larry not sure how old he is.. I got him about 2 months ago..well I got him a sleeping tent inside his bird cage and he keeps on humping it well it looks kind of weird.. My other lovebird Jack not sure what sex it is doesn't do that.. Is that a normal behavior

It's not "normal" but it is common in captive birds unfortunately. I would remove the tent... you don't want him getting territorial/aggressive over it.

Well, it's more a normal response to abnormal circumstances. Procreation is vital to parrots, but a lot of our captive parrots are denied the opportunity. It's immensely frustrating for them, leading to masturbation to alleviate it.

Happy humped her tent as well. Personally i didnt yank the tent because of that...i yanked it because she began shredding it and thus it became unsafe
