I was interested in growing a little herb garden in my window, which is near my bird cage.
I was curious of which herbs are safe and extra beneficial for the birds especially if they nibble on it from the planter?
Any suggestions?

Great question! :hug8: As far as herbs go, I think thyme, lavender, cilantro, parsley, basil are all good, as well as pretty much anything from the mint family...

Ohh!!! ETA: Offer Herbs To Pet Birds check it out! :D

I put something in the bird room for the guys to "nibble from the planter." I went away for the weekend leaving birds and plant in the care of my husband. When I came back, all that was left was the planter and a lot of green confetti all over the counter...

wonderful. I always grow parsley and carrots for the rabbits. Parsley lasts all summer and into the fall. And I always run out to get some when I need it for cooking.

You could also plant some radishes, as the greens are really good for birds, dandilion, silverbeet, peas, watercress, mustard plants.

what does everyone recommend planting the herbs in? What herbs can be planted together in a container for a small mini garden? I am wanting to do this this year :)

All I know is the pot needs good drainage.
I was thinking of a bunch of mini terracotta planters. My parents are going to take me to IKEA to see what they have :)
