Hello everyone!

Does anyone have any experience with Misty Indian Ringnecks? Last year, I bought a breeding pair from a woman who knew nothing about them. The reason I went for it was the price and the birds are beautiful. Anyways, I have experience, breeding Ringneck mutations, but these babies have me stumped. I believe the male is a Misty Blue and the female is a Pallid Green/blue. One of the babies looks cinnamon green or Grey-green but the parents arent grey and the feather quils and shafts look black! The other baby looks Violet! And the tail feathers look like cinnamon or pallid blue but the parents arent violet! I know, the color will be more obvious (maybe) in a few days, but the wait is killing me lol 20170620_134045.jpg 20170620_123006.jpg 20170620_123019.jpg 20170620_123111.jpg 15000278_1330877916945211_3973506660280573827_o.jpg

Someone on a FB page suggested that the female might be a Pallid Violet Green

I wish I knew more about ringneck genetics, but they can be extremely complicated to me. I will say the green baby looks olive, to me. I'll be interested to see what you decide.

Thanks for the input! That is exactly what it looks like, but since Grey is a dominant mutation, one of the parents would have to visually carry the gene. I know Misty has a "greying" effect, but I've never seen it in person, other than the male I have. Hes a greyish opaque blue with a bright blue head. Im pretty good with genetics, but its all on paper. I havent had hands on experience with many mutations, so its a little difficult to pinpoint some of the less common ones. 20161225_133413.jpg
