Hello! Meet my flock and I

Hello everyone! my name is Jen but my second first name is Opal lol. I have conures as hinted by the username.

I have a dusky conure Herbie, a lutino dusky named Derby, sun conure named Sunny and another sun conure but red factor named Vermilion and last but not least a yellow sided green cheek named Skippy.

In about a month or two I’m welcoming another flock member, he is currently being hand fed by the breeder and he/she will be a golden capped conure.

I do have a large flock and I get questions all the time on how I spend time with all my birds and I usually answer with spending time with them after i get home from work until the moment I go to bed. They all get about 2 1/2-3 hours with me everyday. I spoil them all with treats and toys and I share my food with them.

Herbie and Derby are my most photogenic birds, Skippy and the others not quite as photogenic yet.

I had the privilege of seeing Derby in my local exotic bird store, the very kind woman there that owns the store has known me for a while and I ended up buying Herbie and Derby from her. Derby does get a lot of attention when we go places and he knows he’s an attention grabber when we go places lol Derby is very much a diva

Do you know if derby is a male? I am only asking as most are female due to it being a sex-linked mutation.

Derby is a DNA’d male and Herbie is a DNA’d female. I thought Derby might have been female at first due to his behaviors, he’s more timid than Herbie
