Ernie will not go to bed. He’s falling asleep, in fact he wadded himself up in a little ball but he won’t leave.

He’s been on my shoulder since at least 4:00 and maybe longer. It’s 11:22.

Maybe he is afraid of his new toy. Maybe he’s hoping someone will make spaghetti. MAYBE HES GROWN TO MY COLLARBONE.

I think that it is something that makes him not wanted to go to bed (or perhaps something else has changed today/yesterday?) I know how sensitive they are, so I recognize this behavior.
But this also is telling that Ernie really trust you, you should be proud of that.

The three Pionus I have had/have where all/are all very good at going to bed. They want to go to bed when it's time, and if they don't, I know that something is wrong and it's up to me to find the reason.
You know Ernie the best, so I'm sure that you will find out what worries him. (or it can be from the last evening or night too)

Penny is a hawk head but she puts herself to bed & retreats to her flagstone when she is ready & then she lays down on it!!!! OMG...scared me the first time!!!!

So far she was on my shoulder once & I quickly put her on the playtop as she is new to me..

He definitely is a gift from God and one that was unexpected but very needed. Such a sweet gentle soul hidden inside the grumpy exterior!

Maybe it is! He has that curmudgeon thing going on. He is very very sweet — only to me.
