Has anyone ever had a cat chase butterflies?

We have a person in a cat suit or maybe a potato-not sure lol. He basically moves from place to place only to stay comfortable. He has absolutely no interest in the birds & stays as far away from them as possible. One of the things he does do — is chase butterflies that aren’t there! He will stare at the wall, his eyes are following something & sometimes he will bat at it, while hopping along the wall. Or sometimes he will follow it with his eyes and meow. I’ve never seen a cat do that before. Have any of you?

The only time I've had that is when I had suspected ghosts.

Otherwise dust, moths, tiny bugs, reflections and shadows can do it too.

I’m a little OCD about keeping the place clean. Even more so since we got the fids. It would be weird for any phenomena to be here though. The place is about 30 years old & not many people have lived in it. I really do wish I could see what he is!
