Hello fellow bird lovers!
Skip to the last paragraph if you don´t want to read the backstory :)

A few years ago I bought a lone lovebird and called it Sydney.
A year later I decided to buy him a companion, yet they never truely bonded.
Almost a year ago, a lovebird landed on my doorstep (with no ring) I searched for an owner, but no one came forward. She later bonded with the bird I brought home to be with Sydney.
August 15th 2018, 2 eggs hatched. Me and my partner decided we would let Sydney choose a partner and find home/s for the other one, or both if no pair was made.
Today, We have now decided to keep both ... So we are now 5 lovebirds later.... and Sydney is still all alone.

Getting to the point of the thread, I am thinking of buying him/her a harness so we can spend more time together when I go out walking in the mountains.
Sydney is not a chick, So does anyone have any tips to help me with getting Sydney used to the harness, choose a good harness etc.
I don´t want Sydney to be scared of it, I just want us to be together more as I am not planning on expanding the family even more, and I don´t want Sydney to be lonely.
All advice is welcome! I´ll leave a link to a harness avail. in my local petshop. Thanks in advance :)

I would find an aviator harness and get that, it is the safest kne around:) Training him to accept it might take time, but is possible!:) Do always take precautions for hawks and such however.. I have basically trained one of my lovies to wear a harness and the other one is on his way but we didn’t go out yet. However, last week I was in the forest with them in their celltei carrier and I heard birds of prey twice. Not a problem, but if they had been ‘loose’ on a harness that might have ended ugly:)

Seconding Robin about the Aviator Harness. I don't trust any others and the one you posted looks considerably heavier for such a tiny, tiny bird.

TikiMyn, Feather, Thanks. I did see a different brand harness a while ago in a different pet shop, but I looked today and couldn´t see it online... I think that may have been the brand Aviator. So maybe I´ll head that way and see if they still have them still :D
Also, we have a hawk living on top of the apartment block in front of us! I was walking down the street the other day and it was trying to attack someones bird that they had left in a cage on the balcony :( We also have a birds of prey centre on a mountain peak a few hundred metres west, and they are known to go out during one of their shows/exhibits and not always return. They willl stay out for days before going home.
Even to take sydney with me to walk the dog around the town would be nice. I´m going abroad in a week, so I don´t want to start now, my thoughts are it will be better to do it when I´m home so we can try it little by little every day and he´ll get used to it.
I read a lot of people think harnesses aren´t good for a bird but at least he will see a bit more of the world... :)
