Had a tragedy and need HELP

As everyone knows, I had to switch my birds from their free flight bird room to my living room due to financial hardship. My free flight room has a buffer room with a closing door to prevent the escape of birds from the flight and lock out cats when I do a lot of cleaning and the door is opened a lot. The living room opens right on the dining room, no buffer.

Apparently when I had company some weeks ago, my hen lovebird got out of the room when someone went in or out and I didnt discover it for almost 16 hours. When I realized Blu wasn't in the nest box with Harley at bedtime, I tore the room apart looking for her body in case she had died. Nope. Then I gently tore apart the dining room, again, no luck. I went through the entire house that night and found no bird and no remains. Was she eaten? Possibly. ALL my current felines are feral rescues.

Meanwhile, Harley Lovie is calling and calling and calling and losing weight and showing depressive behaviour and I am afraid he is going to die, he is so depressed. So is my vet. I have been looking for three weeks for a hen lovie for him. Two pet stores allowed me to sex their lovies and so far they are all cocks. Craig's List has no lovies on it. The rest of the stores in the 50 mile radius refuse to let me pay to sex their lovies: "buy one and you will find out"!!!!!

ANYONE OUT THERE WITH A HEN LOVEBIRD AT A REASONABLE PRICE FOR A VERY LONELY AND DEPRESSED HARLEY???

Is there any reason it has to be a hen? Males can bond to other males just fine.

Try looking on a web page called Rescue Me. That is where I saw lovebirds. Even Cooper's mom might be there.

He rejected the two cocks I brought home from nearby pet stores. The first one, the smaller one, Harley simply ignored until he tried to enter Harleys cage. Harley attacked physically and I broke it up and put the new lovie in a small cage. Harley kept trying to get to him to fight. Back to the pet store. This time I picked out t largest bird the owner thought maybe hens. Apparently not. Harley zoomed out of his cage like he couldn't wait to meet the second one. I kept 2 in the cage and Harley visited and was social and then it was bedtime. The next morning I left 2 out. Harley was social and again attacked when 2 tried to enter Harleys cage. From then on it was war for 3 days. Back to the pet store. The owner allowed me to DNA test all his lovies. No hens! (Including the two I took home).

Harleys trying to seduce a cockatiel hen now. When his last mate died, ( he has had three mates) he succeeded in convincing a very old cockatiel hen to become a social pair with him and they did everything except mate. Right after Harleys cockatiel died, I found Blu for him. Now with all of you helping, I hope to find his next hen.

You need to introduce in a neutral cage. He is defending his territory and cage.

What a terrible situation there is a website (darn I forgot the name!) but I bought my old conure on it, it sells birds near you I bet you could find one whish you and your Birdy luck

I got my lovie from a breeder online from a website who sells all sorts of things. I hope you can find him a hen!
