These are native frogs too Australia, and are a vunerable species.

Before my Nana passed away, she told me she dearly missed the frogs in her garden. They would've been Marsh Frogs or Southern Tree Frogs. I asked her if she'd like me to raise some for her, she was very excited about it, but unfortunately she passed away before it could happen; though I had Marsh Frog tadpoles lined up.

I've long considered frogs, and today I decided it was the day. It sounds silly, but having frogs makes me think of her, and how much she'd enjoy them.

These guys are babies, and I have 6 in total. They'll need a large tank as they grow, and likely to be separated, as they can and do eat each other.

They don't look very green or gold as this is straight from their moving tub to a enclosure, so they weren't pleased.

I must say, they're CRAZY hunters! Absoloutely fantastic to watch track insects, seriously amazing.

They were captive bred and legally obtained, for any (rightfully) concerned Aussies; I'd never do wrong by our native animals and wildlife.

Also, I do not and will not make it a habit too hold frogs. My hands were washed with cold clean water, but they were not still wet as I didn't intend to hold them; I only held this baby as he escaped between tub transfers!

Thanks Anne!

I've just ordered 600 crickets to restart my breeding colony to keep up with the frogs and lizards. When theyre all bigger i guess I'll have to get roaches again too  the things we do for pets :o:

I love frogs:D. I get as much pleasure from listening to and watching the frogs in my outdoor pond as a do watching the fish.

Cute as a button and I can see where they get their name from! Growing tadpoles into frogs is alot of fun to do, but my experience was just with good old tadpoles from a small stream near my grandparents retirement home. Lovely, Casey and there's nothing silly about them making you think of your gran. :hug8:

Thanks everyone :hug8:
Tomorrow I'll divide them up into two groups of three in larger enclosures. It'll also make it easier to film them eating, as it's quite hard to keep your eye on 6 tiny frogs!

Not yet :D they're so small and similar it's too hard at the moment! waiting for their colours to come out first :D

Can't wait to film the eating. It is seriously so much more energetic than you'd expect!
