Getting a Donkey!!!

We are getting a donkey this weekend !! We went to look at them this morning, and bought one ! This weekend, when my dad comes home, we can go pick him up. He is a miniature donkey, VERY small! I think we are naming him U-Turn (my 8 year old sister picked the name, don't ask me why that name ), and he is four years old . He is very sweet and tame, however, he is a jack so we are getting him gelded . He is brown with white spots and a white head, very cute . Does anyone on the Avunue have donkeys?

Jack was not nice or friendly. But he kept the weanlings company

Here is my boy JJ:

He is from mammoth stock but size-wise is considered a "large-standard". He really doesn't make much noise after he settled in. He does think he is a puppy dog w/ hooves.

does he bray often? that is my only concern with neighbors

He rarely brays. I've only heard him bray once in the last 6 months or so and that was when we were riding the other horses away for the the first ride of the year. Otherwise he is pretty quiet. He wasn't so quiet when he first got here, but once he settled in he seemed to lose his voice.

Nope! Donkey's hooves are kept up with trims every few months
