I am not sure of any rescues that adopt out parrots in Raleigh, but this rescue is in North Carolina, and they may know of a green cheek available closer to you: Companion Parrots Re-homed: About Us .

2 different birds?
What would be different with a new bird, if it got sick?

Honey, all birds do get sick at times.
Do you have the ability to put aside money each month to save up for vet bills?

There's always the possibility of birds getting sick though.
It'd be sad to get another bird and rehome it again because of catching illness

Also, if you don't get their initial vet check and testing for diseases, this could happen again and again. This breaks my heart...special needs babies are wonderful.
