I'm extremely pleased to say that I will be purchasing a custom cage from Expandable Habitats for Emma my african grey.:D

Tricia has been awesome with answering my multitude of questions and following up with me in a very timely manner. I'm looking forward to doing business with them. Their cages are made of 304 stainless steel.

Tricia has also confirmed that their shelves can be mounted on any cage so.. I will also be purchasing a removable shelf.

The cage will be Flattop and on wheels.

Slide in grate and tray.
I've had a chance to research these bowls and will be purchasing 3 (24 Oz bowls) They are VERY impressive and truthfully, they seem to be the cadillac of holders and Bowls. No rusting over time on the rings or bowls, medical grade and very worth the money.

In a nutshell. Service, Business reputation, credibility and price. Tricia from EH has been very *efficient* at answering my questions in a timely and concise manner. She has also respected my time in every way possible at the moment and I appreciate that alot. My time is extremely precious.
At the end of the day, all Emma needs is a custom cage that is
  1. The Right size
  2. Stainless steel and Secure
  3. Functional and practical
  4. One that will Last her forever.
She could care less about irrelevant details like how pretty her cage is.
Merlie gave me a very good analogy about fine wines. YOu can have a great bottle of wine for 15$ and another great bottle for $2000.

They are both great wines.. but is one really *better* than the other? I highly doubt it.:)

Yes wheels are a must. At the moment I asked for legs on wheels..
36.5" wide x 32.5" deep x 63" tall.
The grate alone will weigh 10lbs or a bit more. I'm wondering if I should consider a cage that has no legs? Recently, Emma seems to enjoy visiting parts of the bottom.:p
I do like the look of the cages that go all the way to the bottom.. BUT WHEELS are a must. Oh boy!! Maybe I will change my order to the ones that have a wheel base.. but that would mean a MUCH larger cage.:faint: Must get out the measuring tape.

You can have a short leg with a wheel. Do you use the grate? At the rescue we have a few cages without grates that go pretty much all the way to the floor. I really like them. The only bad thing about them is the birds like to sneak out the bottom when you remove the tray.

Tricia said 16 weeks.. but I wouldn't be surprised if it took a bit longer. :)

Emma seems to like walking around on the grate. I'd hate for her to be mucking around on poopie papers so YES.. a grate is a must for me.:)

Yay! You finally made a choice. I can't wait to hear what you think about the EH cage versus the Freedom cage and you'll have to give us lots of details about the food bowls and how they are held in...like I said, I've seen the set up and I just really prefer doors that open and cups that are placed in the feeder door that is then swung back in with the bar on the top inside the cage that keeps it from being tossed. For EH, don't you need a "key" of some sort to lock down the cups? That would drive me crazy! LOL!
