I hope I'm allowed to post this.
Before we moved from the middle of no where to a quiet little neighborhood, I had a little wild "friend". He was a red-breasted nuthatch. Every evening, all summer long, I had him eating from my hand. I had been feeding a couple of chickadees when he came the first time, I then stood in the same spot the following day hoping that the chickadees would come back, but he did instead. That continued for weeks, until fall came around and I no longer went outside in the cold evenings. It then happened again the following summer, same nuthatch. He had a green band on his leg with numbers on it, I don't remember the numbers, as last time I saw him was back in 2014, right before we moved.
I have photos if it's ok to post them.
