finally back :)

This new grandmommy stuff is alot of work! LOL! Well, I'm back now and I've been busy building Riley a play tree...Baby's is next, but she at least has the playstand until I can get hers done.
Riley is doing soooooo well! He's really a curious little monkey, and is absolutely fearless! I took a vid of him yesterday after I first got his play tree put together. I've done alot more on it since then, but he was happy just climbing, taste testing, and pruning! I used regular soft maple (not red maple) and LOTS of zip ties!
Now, it appears that I have ALOT to catch up on around here!!!

Riley also got his first good bath yesterday.... so I had to take a pic of him being all wet and pathetic, then a couple of him after he had preened himself dry.

And I'll say this again and always will, his colors amaze me and he is absolutely the BEAUTIFULLEST and most gorgeous hybrid macaw I have ever seen. He isnt just the prettiest of the Shamrocks but all the hybrids, his colors are just out there. Just wow!

Again, thank you everyone! Riley's the first Shamrock I've ever seen (until Kathie posted her pics of Calvin ). He's very snuggly and loves to lay on his back next to me in the chair....he's more like a puppy than a bird! He's definitely more vocal than Tiku was.

Mercedez, the zipties seem to be working so far. Hoping I can get daddy to get some screws into it so I can get rid of the zipties. Luckily he's more interested in chewing off the twigs and is leaving them alone, but I have a feeling once he discovers them they won't last long!

I forgot to add that Baby has finally accepted that Riley is part of the flock now. She doesn't get all crazy and start displaying and carrying on when she sees him now, and she will even allow me to pet her right after she's seen me messing with him. Before it would take her awhile before she would let me touch her if she saw me messing with Riley....so definitely progress there!
