Electronic insect repellent. Ultrasonic

Are electronic insect and rodent repellents. Ultrasonic and some say magnetic fields. They plug in sockets. Are they safe around African Grey Parrots. As it's spider and crane fly time. Not to mention all the other creepy crawlies. Has anyone any experience or knowledge of these.

Also, if anyone has tried them, how well do they work? If they're amazing, I will need to figure out how to wear one when I'm collecting Zika samples, er, I mean walking the dogs in the evening.
