Great photos and gorgeous dogs! I adore that puppy of yours. I don’t have any action photos, unfortunately.

Thank you Vicki! Arthur is my very special boy. My son in a furry suit. He was a very fearful and reactive pup. His mom came into rescue pregnant - she was a very fearful and reactive dog. The other 5 pups turned out fine. Arthur, at 4 weeks of age, was ducking away from strangers. Even though he never saw his mother reacting to anything, he reacted in the same way to the same triggers. Because of him, I will never accuse anyone of not socializing their pup enough. Of course it happens, but so does genetics!

I did a ton of stuff with him to give him something to focus on besides the monsters. He turns 4 years old on Nov. 10th and he has come so very far! He'll never be perfect but, for example, I was able to take him into Lowe's with me a couple of weeks ago! He was terrific - calm, happy, inquisitive . . . until one of those lifesize, motion activated Halloween props started talking to him! Oooppppss! Who would have expected that to happen! They were right next to the pet supplies too! I grabbed a bag of chicken jerky off the shelf, ripped it open and started shoveling it into his face as we hastened away from that corner of the store!!! He had a pretty mild reaction - just a couple of barks, no releasing of anal glands!!! and a very quick recovery! However, I learned a good lesson - I'll be more careful to watch out for such unexpected things in the future.

Hi Zach, Easter Bonnet was the coolest dog ever! She got adopted by a wonderful home in NH. She was found as a stray and only 2 days away from euthanasia when we took her into rescue . . . but is the spitting image of an Australian Koolie dog! No clue how one would come to be a stray in upstate NY, but stranger things have happened, I suppose.

Thank you, Renae and Joanna! Renae, Dahlia (the pup) is 8 months old today!! So no longer a wee one, but still stinkin' cute! Joanna, I truly hope they are happy . . . my life pretty much revolves around trying to make them so! <grin>
